Two nursing sisters Margaret Spurgeon and Barbara Wagstaff retired at the same time. Much loved by patients and staff alike at the Rotary ENT Ward, of The William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, Kent, England. This dedication is just to say thank you both for being there.
Their hands were strong to comfort.
Their hearts were quick to heed.
They knew the signs of sadness.
They knew the voice of need.
There was no living creature,
however meek or small,
that they did not know its trouble,
and hearken to its call.
Their lifetime’s spent in duty,
serving others without pause,
those very special ladies,
so deserve our fond applause.
